What is SPY?

The S&P 500 ETF — the most liquid stock on the planet. The benchmark every other US equity is measured against. If you’re brand new, start with the sample day — it walks through one full SPY session from plan to close.

How a SPY plan is built

Three things have to line up. Otherwise we don’t trade.

01
The trend

Where is SPY sitting vs. its 5- and 20-day moving averages? That sets bullish, mixed, or bearish for the day.

02
The setup

A specific level, like yesterday's high, the overnight low, or VWAP (the day's volume-weighted average price, a price many intraday traders watch), gives a clean entry and a tight stop.

03
The macro

No fresh entries during the big scheduled news events: FOMC (the Fed's rate decision), CPI (the inflation report), or NFP (the monthly jobs report). If a print is on the calendar, the plan says "wait" or pauses entirely.

FAQ · SPY signals

The questions people ask before signing up.

Is SPY a good ETF for beginners?

Yes. It's the most liquid US stock, the spreads are tight, and it moves with broad market news rather than one company's headlines. Easier to learn on than a single name.

When are SPY signals delivered?

Two parts. A free premarket-prep email goes out around 9:00am ET on weekdays with the levels to watch (the prior session's high, low, close, and the 20-day trend for QQQ and SPY) for prep, not a buy or sell call. The live BUY or SELL call updates in the app right after the 9:30am ET open. We pause fresh entries during FOMC, CPI, NFP, and major headlines.

How is SPY different from QQQ?

SPY is the broader S&P 500. QQQ is Nasdaq-100, which is tech-heavy. On any given day SPY tends to move less than QQQ. Some traders watch both and trade whichever has the cleaner setup that morning.

What's the win rate on SPY?

We paper-trade every plan in real time and publish the full Ledger — every fill, every stop, every result, public and updated daily. Honest target: ~50-60% of plans should hit at least the first target with reward-to-risk above 1× over a meaningful sample. Real numbers will appear here once enough plans have closed.
